When running any business in the formal sector of the economy, there will be certain regulatory or statutory codes of practice to which business owners will have to comply with. This ensures that practices meet certain standards and criteria which produce a relatively smooth-running economy where business activities are legal, fair, and ethical. Against this background, the purpose of this module is to acquaint attendees with certain basic compliance principles related to Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), South African Revenue Service (SARS), and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE).
